Guides · Fantasy footballFantasy Football Last-Place Trophy Ideas
A good fantasy football last-place trophy keeps the bottom of the standings trying all season. It should be funny, it should last, and the last-place team should have to keep it on a shelf for a year. Here are the ideas we like, and how to make them on a laser.

What makes a last-place trophy work
- It has to be displayed. Make it something that sits on a desk or hangs on a wall, not something that goes in a drawer. Part of the deal is that it stays out where people can see it.
- It has room for more than one name. A trophy that lists every last-place team becomes the league's history. A blank line or an add-a-plate spot each season is enough.
- It holds up. It gets handed off every year, so solid wood or acrylic beats anything glued together from party-store parts.
- It's a joke everybody's in on. A rough season is the punchline, not the person. Keep it something a coworker or an in-law can laugh at too.
Last-place trophy ideas
1. A last-place plaque with the season on it
The simplest version: an 8 x 10 in wood plaque with the league name, the team and the season. Our pack has two to pick from. "Bottom of the Barrel" has an old barrel and a flat football, and the other has a knocked-over trophy and "Better luck next year." Both have blank lines for the league, the team and the year, so you add the names in your laser software before you engrave.
2. A wall board that keeps every season
If your league has been going for years, a board with a plate for each season is the one people stop to read. Our Hall of Champions board is 12 x 16 in with 12 plate spots, and it comes with a separate add-a-name plate you cut each season. Most leagues use it for champions, but nothing says you can't make a second one for last place and hang them side by side.
3. A medallion on a trophy you already have
Got an old bowling trophy from a garage sale? Glue a 3 in "Last Place" medallion on the front and it's a traveling trophy. The pack has five medallions: Champion, Runner-up, Last Place, Weekly High Score and The Commish. They're also good for adding a season's award to a trophy your league already passes around.
4. A League Rules sign with the last-place rule on it
Put the rule in writing where everyone can see it. Our League Rules sign is 11 x 14 in and comes filled in, plus a blank version for your own rules. If last place has to host the draft party, buy the first round or wear something ridiculous on draft night, that rule goes on the sign.
5. Coasters for the draft party
A set of 4 in coasters is a small thing everybody gets to keep. Ours say Field, Trade Vetoed, Waiver Wire Hero and The Commish. Make a set for each team, or hand the "Trade Vetoed" one to whoever lost the most arguments that year.
6. A Draft Day sign for the year after
The season ends with last place, and the next one starts with the draft. A 12 x 6 in Draft Day sign hung by the draft board is a nice way to remind everyone who picks first.
Making it on a laser
Our Fantasy Football Trophy Pack is 18 laser files: three plaques, the board and its name plates, two signs, five medallions and four coasters. Every design comes as SVG, DXF, PNG and PDF, and works in LightBurn, Bambu Suite, xTool, Glowforge, Cricut and most other laser software.
- Wood is the classic: engrave the black fill and cut the red hairline outline.
- Leatherette works for plaques and coasters too.
- Two-layer laser acrylic in brushed gold or silver looks like an old-school trophy plate: the laser takes off the metal-look top to show the black underneath.
Run a test on scrap first. Every machine and every board is a little different. These are files, not finished trophies, so you make the piece on your own laser. If you don't have one, a local laser shop or makerspace can usually run a file for you.
Want your league's names set for you?
Our Custom Fantasy Trophy File is one design from the pack with your league name, team and season already set in the matching fonts and turned into outlines, so there's nothing to type. You pick the design and type your details at checkout, and we email the file in 1 to 2 business days.
